Sports

There were many sports and games that were popular in Colonial America. Most of these activities are still commonly practiced today. Some of the more active sports included soccer (which they called football), swimming and lacrosse, though they also engaged in other games, such as marbles and cribbage.
Many of the more physical activities that Colonial Americans engaged in were considered a form of training for battle. Some examples are the blow out was one of the most old of the marbles, others were the runs of the horses and bulls

The stadium was constructed by the son of Nemesio Camacho, by the birthday 400 of Bogota. There are many games that ahve been there the american cup, world cuo under 20, pre-olimpics games. The first game was between Bolivia and Colombia.

Nowdays the principal sport in Bogota is soccer, in colombia the principal league is Liga Postobon. The teams that represent Bogota are: Millonarios, Santa Fe and Equidad. The oldest is Millonarios the more new is Equidad. The biggest classic is Millonarios vs Santa Fe. The stadiums are El campin and el metropolitano.

Library

by Sebastian Guerrero
today, I am in the "Centro Cultural Biblioteca Publica Julio Mario Santodomingo". This beautiful place is located next to our school and it is the biggest library in Iberoamerica. I happen to live very near so I came easily with my father. This place has a garden at the entrance,it has a theater, a small gallery, and two sections of books: the kids place and the general zone. And in the back of the building, there is a big playzone witha exercise park in a sand pit, a place to do roller-skating, skateboarding, etc.

I could interview 2 workers, one in the kids zone and the other in the general zone.
the girl at the kid zone's interview was something like this:
Sebastian: hi, can you do me a favor
Librarian 1: yes, sure
S: is that I have a work for school and I wonder if you could answer me some questions?
L1: ok
S: how long have you been working in here?
L1: like a year and a month
S: how many kids come here?
L1: between mondays and thursdays, fewer than from fridays to sundays
S: how can I pick up books in here?
L1: you have to get the inscription card and when you have it, you can take books, movies and cd from here and general zone
S: how is the stuff of the computers?
L1: you give your name, your age and I asign you a computer. the kids +13 can't use them
S: ok, thats all, thank you
L1: ok, anytime
and the interview with the guy in the general zone, where in fact i am writing this, was like this

S: what other things can you tell me about this place
L2: well, we have braille books for blind people, we have study zones and study cubicles.

Bogota's history

Bogota was first populated by muiscas, who was settled in Cundinamarca and Boyacá. They talked the language of Chibchas. In this area the population was organized in two large federations, each commanded by a chief: the southwest area dominated by the Zipa with the center located in Bacatá, currently Bogotá. He was the strongest leader occupying two fifths of the territory. The northeast zone was the Zaque domain and the center was Hunza region, currently Tunja. Muisca population however, contrasting with Tairona population, did not develop large cities. Muisca, eminently farmers formed a disperse population occupying numerous small villages and hut settlements. Besides, some free isolated tribes also existed: Iraca or Sugamuxi, Tundama and Guanentá.
Their inhabitants main occupation was agriculture complemented by hunting and fishing. They basically cultivated corn and potatoes, beans, squash, tomatoes, “cubios” yucca, tobacco, “arracacha”, sweet potatoes and diverse fruit and vegetables. In the mining field, salt and emeralds extraction was fundamental for their own use and to trade with other tribes from which they obtained gold and cotton. In the conquest of the Spaniards Gonzalo Jimenez de Quesada after found Santa Marta, he went exploring and found Santa fe de Bogota, so he decided to build an urban settlement. This was on 6 august of 1537. After it was named the capital of the new Granada. The first neighborhood was la calendaria. The he found juridical foundation with Federmann. The they found the Bolivar plaza and plaza mayor. The first mayor was Pedro de arevalo.

Bogotá, Distrito Capital
After time Bogota was the most important city of the colonial time there were churches, the city was expanded, now a days is the largest city in Colombia. In Bogotá was practiced the mita, encomienda and resguardo because  many people  worked there. The printing was useful in that time so the royalty can print the news.
Urban design consisted in squares and from that time the one hundred meters per lienzo de cuadra prevails. Traverse streets (east–west) were 7 meters wide and current carreras 10 meters wide.
In 1553 the Main Plaza—now Bolivar plaza—was moved to its current site and the first cathedral construction on the eastern side began. On the other sides the Chapter and the Royal Hearing were located. The street joining the Major Plaza and Herbs Plaza—currently Santander park. In 1948 was the bogotazo, it was when a man killed Jorge Eliecer Gaitan, the city exploted, the city was divided in partdo liberal and partido coneservador, there were many men killings. In 1970 the city was expanded and became modern.
After this period the city had transmilenio that is a ystem of transport, the cicloruta and pico y placa that is because many people have car so it was created to regulate the tarffic. Now a days the city had the world cup sub20, and the city became a touristic center, like monserrate, Colpatria tower, el campin.  The two predominat soccer team sin Bogota are Millonarios and Santa Fe.
